ROBO-BLAST 40

ROBO-BLAST 40 + 1 operator can blast more vertical or horizontal square meters per hour than five 3-man blasting crews via its 40 cm wide blast pattern that can blast close to the ground and around obstructions.  When used on tanks, It can be disassembled to fit through a standard 24”  manway to blast internal floors and walls. Other uses include blasting roofs where weight is a concern, as well as over knuckle roofs.

ROBO-BLAST 40 specifications:

  • 76 cm wide

  • 153 cm depth

  • 153 cm high

  • 545 kg weight

  • Blast Media - Steel grit/shot

ROBO-BLAST 40 is operated using a Hand-Held Wireless Remote Control to blast in both a forward pass and a reverse pass, thereby minimizing worker handling.  Truly a 1-person operation that previously required a large crew. Also, steel grit (GS-25 recommended) and/or steel shot (S-330, S-390) blasting media is recycled (up to 30X) within our dust-free, 100% closed loop system, to reduce grit costs by 90% or more!

ROBO-BLAST 80

ROBO-BLAST 80 is our most popular machine and is our highest production machine.  1 ROBO-BLAST 80 + 1 operator can blast more vertical/horizontal/ pipe square meters per hour than a ten 3-man blast crews via its 80cm blast pattern which blasts large, open areas where higher blast production is required.

ROBO-BLAST 80 specifications:

  • 145 cm wide

  • 130 cm depth

  • 140 cm high

  • 1,000 kg weight

  • Blast Media - Steel grit/shot

  • Onsite or In-Shop Blasting

  • Blast any vertical, horizontal, pipe (1/2" to 80") surface

When used on tanks, ROBO-BLAST 80 can be disassembled to fit through a standard 24 inch manway. ROBO-BLAST is operated via a Hand-Held Wireless Remote Control to blast in both a forward pass and a reverse pass, thereby minimizing worker handling.  Truly a 1-person operation that previously required a large crew.  Steel shot (S-330, S-390) and Steel grit (GS-25) blasting media at an 80/20 is typically used to achieve Sa2.5 (white metal) standards and the steel media is recycled (up to 30X) within a dust-free, 100% closed loop system to reduce grit costs by 90% or more and provide a ready-to-paint surface without any rinsing or compressed air blow-downs!

DUST COLLECTOR

The Dust Collector is UL Rated and is the heart of the ROBO-BLAST system. A hand-held wireless remote control is provided with the unit.  The Dust Collector includes the main electrical panel (which powers the unit and the ROBO-BLAST) and provides a high level of vacuum to the ROBO-BLAST.  The paint and dust are automatically vacuumed off the surface and deposited in a 55 gallon drum allowing for easy and environment-ally friendly self-contained waste removal.

When the waste drum is full, it is lowered to the ground by two ratchets and removed from the Dust Collector.  A new drum is attached and the old drum is capped.

The amount of hazardous waste (toxic paint/dust/rust scale) produced on a typical 35,000 m3 tank project is approximately 1-2 tons using ROBO-BLAST and 80-90 tons using manual, mineral grit blast methods.  Increasingly, clients and governments are requiring contractors to responsibly dispose of all waste generated, resulting in higher costs to hazardous waste disposal facilities.

Dust Collector specifications:

  • 168 cm wide

  • 200 cm depth

  • 200 cm high

  • 680 kg weight

The Dust Collector and Electrical Panel requires 3 phase power and can operate from 240-500V, 50 or 60 Hz (100KW generator).  Expensive air compressor rental and higher fuel usage are eliminated!

HOIST SYSTEM

The Hoist Assembly is used on vertical cleaning applications and attaches to both external roof fixtures as well as internal wall support fixtures. It can also be used with a crane or boom lift when standard fixtures cannot be used. The hoist system raises and lowers the ROBO-BLAST during vertical blasting.

The Hoist Assembly consists of 2 cable drums that are driven on a shaft by a variable frequency brake motor and a heavy duty hollow shaft gear box.  45 meters of .952cm steel cable is supplied on each drum. The dual cable system supports ROBO-BLAST at 2 points, 1 meter apart, which ensures the ROBO-BLAST unit remains stable as it moves up and down walls and over weld seams.

The One and Only ROBO-BLAST Does it All!

Blast ANY vertical or horizontal surface, or ANY pipe (internal/external), with the only machine on the planet that does it all!   No need to buy separate units for each surface type

One man and a remote-controlled ROBO-BLAST can blast any surface up to 90 m2/hr.  Try doing that with 1 man and a blast nozzle!  As a matter of fact, it's not possible, as 1 man and a nozzle can only blast 5-6 sq. meters/hr.

ROBO-BLAST is able to blast 97% of a 40 ft. by 150 ft. tank shown here (the internal wall & floor, as well as external shell and and roof), while painting at the same time ... AND completing the entire project in only 6 DAYS!  It would take a team of inefficient, inconsistent and costly blast crews 29 days or more (an 82% SCHEDULE REDUCTION!)

Concrete Structure

HUMAN-CENTERED DESIGN

ROBO-BLAST was designed to minimize human interaction and maximize efficiency on horizontal and vertical surfaces such as the structure shown here.  ROBO-BLAST blasts by remote control (300m transmitting range) in both a forward pass and a reverse pass, to minimize operator handling.  Surface removal is now a 1-person operation, that previously required 80% more time, 80% more workers, 90% more media, 100% more scaffolding, 60% more blasting/support equipment and fuel to execute, as well as 90% more costly hazardous waste to dispose of.  ROBO-BLAST only requires 460V 3 phase power (client supplied) or a 100kW generator vs. numerous 1600 cfm compressors plus double or triple the fuel!

Industrial Smoke

LOW EMISSIONS & EFFICIENCY

A 100 KW generator (or plant power, if available) is all that's required to power the entire system, (ROBO-BLAST, Hoist and Dust Collector), to make quick work of all your blasting projects!  Emissions are reduced by 60% or more and landfill waste by 90% or more.

ADVANCED BLASTING TECHNOLOGY

ROBO-BLAST utilizes steel shot and/or steel grit as its blasting media in order to provide a dust-free project and a superior blasted surface. Steel grit/shot blasts the surface, is re-captured and recycled within the blast head, while paint chips and rust scale are separated, vacuumed off the surface and collected in a storage drum for removal.  Blasting and painting can be done AT THE SAME TIME!

Worker with Mask

DUST-FREE OPERATION

No need for masks, as ROBO-BLAST's 100% closed loop design allows dust-free blasting and eliminates toxic air pollution typical of manual, mineral grit blasting machines, while eliminating exposure to lead and toxic dust by workers and citizens in nearby vicinities.  Toxic coatings are deposited in sealed drums for easy, off-site transportation.  Blasting can be done in any setting!
